| - I'm not happy to post this review since my first visit here was great.
First, the pros of this hotel is location! It is smack dab in the middle of the popular strip and one has easy access to Caesars across the street, there is a Walgreens on both ends of the block, and if you get to stay in the Habitat towers, you have great views of the Omnia at night. My room, the Fab Exec was amazingly roomy and comfortable. The beds comfortable, and the shower/bathroom nice. Check-in process is quick when done by the kiosks and customer service here was good.
My second visit here, not so much.
Apparently, depending on what towers/floors you are in, the rooms could differ vastly and it was reflected in the degenerating paint and bathroom with cracks in the wall and musty smelling shower curtains. So while our first night there was comfortable (I requested the GO room for our first evening), imagine our horror in finding a bedbug walking on one of the beds, under the first sheet in the second room for the evening. Our room was located on the 5th floor and instead of killing it, we decided to catch it and put it in one of the paper cups for evidence. I have no idea, perhaps there was more of them under the mattress cover or perhaps it came up in the extra set of pillows/sheets I had requested.
I called down to the front desk and was assisted by a clerk that was quite helpful. She said she would have no problems in changing our rooms. I asked her what would happen to that room after she asked if we would like to file a report. She said that if we filed, it would be filed with their Risk Management office. If we didn't file, nothing would happen. So of course we filed and they sent security immediately upstairs to take the report. I also gave him the cup that held the little bugger for evidence.
When we went downstairs, the next clerk at the counter was extremely rude, for reasons unknown. And threw the new key at us. Apparently she didn't get the memo that we were to be assisted immediately without having to stand in line. That being said, we were accommodated and given new rooms that were actually nicer than the previous ones.
I'm not freaking out about the situation since we were not bitten plus this is not the first time I've seen a bedbug (I saw these on a homeless person's belongings out on the street once) plus my classes in Entymology has prepped me for exposure to segmented parasites, but I sure hope this hotel, one of the few historic ones remaining on the strip, fumigated that room.
At the very least, they should have given us one night free.
On the flip side, I won money on one of the slot machines so that was a nice return on the bedbug investment, hehe
