| - My wife and I recently visited Tempe Arizona for a relaxing weekend get away.
We had never visited Tempe before, and were not renting a car. We planned to walk and take Lyft/Ubers as needed. We wanted a hotel that had the amenities listed below:
* Clean Modern Hotel
* Nice Pool Area
* Safe Location
* Free Airport Shuttle
* Free Breakfast
* Free Wifi
* Walking Distance To Shops And Restaurants
The Residence Inn Tempe delivered!
At the time this review was written, the staff stated the Hotel is less than 5 years old. The Hotel smelled very clean and had very modern touches. The lobby had several flat screen TV's, and a couple private lounge areas. There is a small sundries store in the lobby that sold snacks, beverages, and toiletries. The elevators were fast and did not keep us waiting.
Our studio suite was very large and well appointed. The living-room area came with a sectional sofa/pull-out bed, a work desk area, a small dining table, and flat screen TV. There was a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The kitchen had pots/pans, cutlery, plates, coffee maker, and toaster. The bedroom had a comfortable queen size bed with a 2nd flat screen TV. The bathroom had a full tub/shower and was stocked with complimentary Paul Mitchell products.
There is a rooftop pool on the 11th floor, and hosts beautiful views of Downtown Tempe and Sun Devil Stadium. Pool towels are available at the pool, and the gym is also located on this floor as well. We used the pool every day!
The location of the Hotel felt very safe, as we walked to the restaurants on Mill Street, which were only about a 5-6 minute walk.
The free breakfast was delicious and filling, and included several pastries, bagels, jams/jellies, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, sausage, and a waffle bar. Coffee, milk, orange, and apple juice was available as well. Staff was attentive and kept the eating area clean.
On a side note: Without going into too much detail, upon our arrival at the airport, the hotel's free shuttle service was running very late. The manager told us we can catch a taxi to the hotel, and that the hotel would pay for our taxi ride.
Upon our arrival at the hotel, the manager greeted us, paid for our taxi ride, and apologized for the shuttle service delay. For the inconvenience, the manager upgraded our suite to a corner room with a view.
I am a business owner myself, and understand these things happen. The manager's genuine apology and her desire to "make it right" for the customer cemented my belief that this Hotel is a wonderful property.
The level of service at The Residence Inn was amazing. All the staff were friendly, attentive, and made our visit to Tempe very memorable.
Without hesitation, I would stay at the Residence Inn again, and would recommend to others!
