I dropped by Carnicero's Prime Meats & Fine Foods because I saw pics of fat pieces of bacon and meat online. What else could a guy want, besides huge slabs of bacon stuffed inside a hot dog bun right? Well here is where I was a bit wrong. While looking at the cuts that were being served, the GF and I decided to get the Bacon Sandwich with fatty pieces. When I say fatty, these pieces were so full of fat that they make a McDonald's Big Mac seem like eatting celery sticks. It was a huge sandwich ($8), I'll give it that, but we could barely finish the meat as it was so chewy. The flavor was bland and I did not taste any of the smokiness that was mentioned by other reviews.
The service was fast and surly to say the least. The guy cutting the meat slopped it on the bun without question and the girl that took my order left no smiles on the table that day. In fact she didn't seem like she wanted to answer questions we had between the two style of bacon burgers they offered either. Why you mad tho?
Overall, if you want to have a piece of pork that has the consistency of chewing gum, than this is your place. It's worth a shot if you're feeling touristy, but personally I would spend my money elsewhere. I hate to say it, but this is the first time I did not like something primarily full of bacon!
