  • As a big fan of consignment furniture stores, Avery Lane is my favorite find this year. I understand the owner is a designer and it shows in the beautifully curated store. You really get the feeling you're in a high end gallery, but pricing is realistic and clearly marked. The vignettes are styled delightfully, and the store is fresh and clean feeling. In addition to the very large main floor, there is a fun backroom stuffed with slightly hidden treasures and a section of outdoor items just outside the doors. Some of the best pieces I've seen in Scottsdale are to be found there. It's refreshing to find resale items that have been vetted for taste and quality, avoiding the tacky turnoffs found at some of the other shops I frequent. With design trends focusing on carefully selected expressions of individual style instead of matchy-matchy excess, Avery Lane is a wonderful place to look for your home décor. Don't expect thrift store pricing, but the deals are pretty good. 1/13/14 I see another reviewer has taken a pot shot at my review of Avery Lane. I want to make it very clear that I am a customer with no connection to the business. I am a devotee of Scottsdale consignment stores and have reviewed several others. I'm surprised that the other reviewer had a disappointing experience but it can happen. Implying that my unsolicited Yelp review was a shill is unfair and inaccurate. I just wanted to put that out there. I stand by my review. The owner did do me a favor on my first visit. I found a random pot stand in the back room and she gave it to me for free because the pot it had held was broken. Nice gesture and a loyalty builder. Avery Lane is a class act. I'm just sorry I couldn't afford the last painting I fell in love with in there.
