  • In a town fueled by money, free is sometimes a nice way to change things up a bit! I'm definitely putting this awesome outdoor attraction on my list of things to do with kids in Vegas, and I still vividly remember this from when I was a kid myself during my first visit over 20 plus years ago!! It opened all the way back in '89, and new light and sounds in '96, and has since gone under a 25 million dollar remodel in '08. This impressive volcano replica located just outside of The Mirage erupts every single night except when there's very high wind. Perhaps give a call if you're unsure. Schedule is as follows: Sun-Thurs 7&8pm and Fri & Sat at 7,8 and 9pm The volcano which is hooked up to a state of the art system which provides guests with a feeling of the volcano rumbling draw big crowds especially now that Treasure Island has closed its outdoor show which included a fire element. If you're able to snag a spot up front, be prepared for heat! If you didn't, don't fret, you can still see the lava spewing up into the air, 12 feet above from a distance! Guest staying at the hotel on floor 14 or higher can view the action from above! The fire is choreographed to a soundtrack which includes instruments from all over the world and tribal chanting was created especially for this Volcano from The Grateful Dead's Mickey Hart and Indian tabla sensation Zakir Hussain!! It has been noted while composing this piece the artist studied myths and the history of volcanos! Amazing!! This is absolutely with going out of your way for, especially with kiddos!
