| - What a fun birthday celebration! I had only been to N&B's for a Yelp event, so I was excited to actually have a dinner. We grabbed a table outside, which is quite pleasant even though you're basically in the parking lot. The entire night our server was on point. She was friendly, but not too much, quick and helpful when it came to offering up dinner suggestions. The manager even came over to check on our meal. We made reservations and ate early, around 6:30. I would recommend this, considering this place tends to get busy. I really like the decor of N&B's- cozy with a twist.
Now on to the food...
We all ordered the red wine blend that was on special, perfect way to start off the night, follow by their complementary popcorn... spicy and a little odd, but not bad, just not expected. We ordered the poblano cheese dip. Wow, It's heavy like you would expect and served with homemade chips, the only problem, you may completely ruin your appetite with this appetizer.
On to the main dishes- Between the meatloaf, tacos and my pork chops, everything was great. Heavy southern dishes all with a modern add on spicy grits and salmon tacos. The only downside, the majority of the menu was very heavy. I didn't think they had a lot of lighter options to choose from. The menu is a little on the pricier side- ranging from 18-30 dollars for an entrée, but I do think the pricing is justified.
The night was sealed with a sweet treat of turtle Cheesecake, on the house.... What a nice surprise, they even wrote Colin a birthday card and gave up a coupon for a return visit. Damn, that is some good marketing!
