  • I've been curious about the Free House for a couple of years now because I pass its outside table area almost every day and see scads of happy patrons eating there. I finally got my chance this past weekend when the wife and I took our neighbor out for burgers and decided to give the Free House a try. We got seated immediately on a busy Saturday evening and were lucky enough to nab an outside table on what may have been the best day of the summer so far (temps in the 70s, not a cloud in the sky, etc.). All three of us were hankering for a burger and we all three got their "Old Standby," a basic burger with cheddar cheese and a side of fries. The burger was excellent and the fries traditional and very good. The service was a little on the slow side, which I'll chalk up to a busy Saturday night with immaculate weather. All in all it was a great experience. It scratched our burger itch and left us curious to come back soon and try some of the other items on the menu. Definitely worth a look if you're in the area and hungry!
