  • I was partially attracted to this hotel since it is a non-gaming one, and the location was within close walking distance to the areas I wanted to spend time in. Yes, I go to Las Vegas for all of the wrong reasons. Other than the W Times Square, this is the second time I've ever been in a hotel that had the 'dual-elevator system', meaning you had to take one to get to the lobby/check-in area, then another to get to the room itself. I can see this being a hassle to some, but I didn't really mind it since I only had one small carry-on with me, and I got used to this after a while. And I was sober the entire time. Room 1910 was home for my short stay, and the first thing I noticed is the scent...I never found out what it was, but it was extremely relaxing. The blinds appeared to open on cue, and the bathroom with its over-sized egg shaped tub was to my right. If I was slightly annoyed by anything, it was the music, but not a problem, it obviously can be shut off. Had a wonderful view from this higher floor, as I'm sure all of the rooms do, and the bed was super comfortable. The bath was ultra-relaxing, and the amenities were by Aromatherapy Associates. The only slight downfall to this hotel is that I felt I was on the younger side here; everything seemed to be almost too nice where I felt like I was the child not allowed in the adult 'sitting room' for fear I would break something, or actually...sit. Even though I hear this particular location of the Mandarin Oriental is priced more reasonably compared to their other properties, they certainly don't skimp on the elegance and sophistication. I look forward to staying at their Columbus Circle location...after I win big here in Las Vegas (NOT).
