I visit this Zara regularly because I work right next door. The service here is usually non existent, but today I left never wanting to step foot in that place again. There were about 7 staff members in the store during my time there, not one of them gave a smile or a hello. As I was trying on clothes in the fitting room, inappropriate conversation between 3 staff members were chatting up a storm very loud for the whole place to hear.
"eww I would never date him! he's asian!"
"The manager's not in tomorrow. You ready??? Let's take a shot before we open."
This conversation continued for over 10 minutes and was topped off with the annoyance of the music from a staff member playing candy crush on their phone. Not once was I asked if I needed another size or any acknowledgement of existence.
On my way out of the change room with different stacks of hangers (a few to purchase on one hand and a few to leave behind on the other.) the asian girl with the dark bob cut put her arm out and just grabbed the hangers of clothes I wanted to purchase without saying a word or looking at me. I told her I was taking those and she rolled her eyes and grabbed the other hangers out of my hands. Needless to say, I left without purchasing a thing.
I appreciate shopping at Zara because of their amazing seasonal pieces/designs at affordable prices. However, one would think a Zara store located in Yorkville would put extra attention on costumer service, considering all the nearby high end competition in the area.
For those enjoying a nice afternoon lunch in Yorkville and looking to finish the afternoon off with some light hearted shopping in the area, do yourself a favor and avoid this store at all costs. This Zara location is the rudest customer service I have ever come across.
