I spent $995 for a la-z-boy recliner about 20 months ago from the smith corners la-z-boy galleries. The sales pitch included the a hard pitch on the quality of the chair as well as the lifetime guarantee. Well, only if I would have known, theirs was a classic ripoff. The springs in the back part of the chair broke and now I have broken wire protruding through the leather. I return to the store with the receipt and ask if they would replace the failed chair. The reception I got was nothing short of rude, arrogant and outright disconcerting. After a short dialogue about how the store that pitched a lifetime warranty I called the la z boy customer center. The reception was similar. These people are not interested in you as a customer and very unwilling to provide you with any practical solution. What I learned that their lifetime warranty will cost me about TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS for the Repair man to come to my house and fix the chair. Finally I asked the rude sales rep for the manager of the store name and number and she handed me a card. I called the number and got another rep not the manager. After another brief conversation the result was the same. Finally, I asked the sales rep what would be the trade in value of the chair since they has a 6 foot poster on the front door encouraging customer to trade in their old chair for a trade in price. What I got from the rep is I have no clue what the trade in value would be.
BOTTOM LINE:
-NEVER BUY A LA-Z-Boy because their products are not worth any price,
-NEVER DO BUSINESS AT THE SMITH CORNERS GALLERY, THE SALES REPS APPARENTLY LIE AND WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING TO GET A SALE
-LA-Z-BOY IS NO BETTER WHEN IT COMES TO SATISFYING THE CUSTOMER. VERY POOR COMPANY
