| - I have to say from a marketing perspective, it was the name that got my attention.
Having said that, I went, and ate. Coming from TX, my standard is fairly high as we have more than our share of Vietnamese cuisines here.
I got there on a week night with maybe 3 or 4 other tables. Ordered the combination pho, along with the shrimp/pork spring rolls. Service was quick as I got my food within 5min of ordering. First impression was that the size of the bowl seemed smaller than what I've seen, or at least compare to the ones here in TX. There were only 1 size, so no other options. Before I put in any condiments and sauce, I always like to taste the soup first as that's usually the most important part of pho. In this case, I thought the soup has a heavy flavor of tripe. I ordered the combination, so naturally it has the tripe, which I do enjoy, but just didn't expect the soup itself has that flavor as well. It was light, and seemed to lack the depth of the typical pho flavoring, with the lemon grass and other flavors.
Overall, it was OK. Also had the spring rolls. They too were just OK. They were quite sticky from what I recall, so not sure if it's been sitting there for awhile?
Overall, I have to say I like the name of this restaurant. But the food is really just average. As I was craving some boba drink, but that's one thing they do not have on their menu. I was also craving a bahn mi, which they also don't have.
