I met a friend of mine for a drink at Cantina 1511 right after work on a Wednesday. It was just after 5 pm, and the restaurant was empty. There were two bartenders mulling around behind the bar -- it took them about 5 full minutes to find and open 2 Coronas. We then moved into the dining room for appetizers and drinks with a larger group. To say the service was slow would be a vast understatement. It took 15-20 minutes to get a drink (some margaritas, some beers), if you got them at all. We were there for about an hour and several people had outstanding drinks that never arrived. Did I mention the restaurant was not busy?
We also had orders of shrimp, chicken and beef skewers -- all of which were very tasty -- except for the ones with RAW chicken. Not sort of undercooked -- but, barely cooked. The guac was outstanding.
The 3-star rating is generous because i LOVED the Cantina 1511 on East Blvd, so I'm hoping this was just an off night.
