  • Within the last several days, I've spent what feels like a lifetime at Bill Luke. I originally stopped in on Tuesday the 27th to look at a vehicle because I had a pre-approval offer with Capital One. The interest was high, but my credit is less than great so it was a decent place to start on my own. I was helped by Dwight, who unfortunately was part of the reason why my experience wasn't stellar at Bill Luke. He's not the most personable person in the entire world and really only wanted to chat about numbers. When we went back inside to do just that, he was very cut and dry. Very much had the attitude of, "This is basically what it's going to be, can you do that or not?" With a payment $110 more than what I'm currently paying, it wasn't very feasible. He recommended that I add a cosigner to see if we qualify for their in-house financing. If you use their in-house financing, the price of the vehicle does down by $1,000 because, as Dwight puts it, banks will pay the DEALERSHIP $1,000 for financing. I suppose this is fair, but just heed my warning, in order to make sure you get their in-house financing, they'll pull your credit several times. In the span of two days, my credit report was pulled EIGHT times, so my score certainly suffered a negative impact. With my mom's application submitted as a co-signer on a car, Dwight said he'd get back to me the next morning when he was finished working out the numbers. He never did. In fact, the only time I heard back from anyone at Bill Luke was when their Internet rep, Yocelyn, emailed me and asked if I had any questions. I inquired about the vehicle and finally, the ball was rolling. On Friday the 30th, I went back to Bill Luke after speaking with Yocelyn, who said the model that I was looking at wouldn't fit in my budget so I inquired about another vehicle. When I got there, Dwight was busy with another customer, so Alex ended up helping me. Bill Luke, you have a star of an employee in Alex. He was so patient and really bent over backward to make sure that I was going to end up with a vehicle that I loved. He even managed to squeeze a little more out of my trade-in and car financing to make sure my monthly payments were in a range I was comfortable with. The service I received on Tuesday and the service I received on Friday and Saturday are night and day. From Yocelyn to finally getting back to me, to Alex who was patient, even to Nate who went through the different features of my vehicle before I drove it off the lot. Unfortunately, the more recent events can't entirely outweigh the headache of the big scheme of things. I have a car I'm happy with, but it was a pain in the ass to get there.
