From a social standpoint, leading doctor and pioneer of the clinic, Dr. Moffitt, does not believe in inseminating "single women". I went to the orientation where he clearly spelled this out through his PowerPoint presentation which shows a man and woman in a church, "family" described as husband and wife, etc. My partner and I were very uncomfortable. We felt very discriminated and outcasted. REALLY? In this day and age?!? What about love, isn't that what the Church teaches regardless of sexual orientation and isn't that the single most important element needed for a well adjusted child? The website states "we welcome with open arms" which is pretty contradictory and hypocritical.
From a purely economic standpoint, I think it is quite foolish to turn down business in this manner especially in these economic times since there are so many infertility centers to choose from in Phoenix. In the orientation seminar, they heavily promoted IVF over IUI which gave me a sense they are looking to make money rather than truly caring for the patient's specific needs and what's best for each case.
All in all, I believe there are better choices in Arizona and parents need to stay informed and choose carefully for the best.
