The Quality Inn & Suites in Monroe, NC gets 2 out of 5 stars...and that is being generous because of its convenient location near numerous resturants and stores nearby. The lobby had a strange smell, like when someone tries to cover up an odor with a deodorizer. The room had an even more pungent moldy smell. The bathroom tub had an extremely smelly moldy caulking job that looked like it was done by a 5-year-old. There were only 2 full sized towles about to slide off the broken towl rack, one of which was still WET! Despite paying online a month in advance for my room, my credit card was charged again at checkout. They said the second charge would be refunded (I am watching my like a hawk to ensure that happens). If staying in Monroe, I recommend paying a few dollars more to stay at the Best Western right behind this place instead.
