| - I am very happy to have choosen to live at the Bingham. It was a difficult choice where I was to live downtown and I toured everything, it was not an easy option. I looked at Bridgeview, Water St., Res at 1717, Res at 668, The 9, Reserve Square, Krause building, and so many more. I had Penthouse 6. This was not the first time I toured the Bingham. the first tour there were no penthouses open and we were shown the loft style. I personally do not love the loft style rooms, however, the tenants seem to love the layouts that they have so it goes to show that you never can tell.
There are four elevators. One is a service by the entrance to cosentinos, this thing is slower than my death. It was fun to ride though, it goes from level 3 to 12. Then there is the elevator bank in the lobby. The left most elevator goes from 5 to 12, the middle goes from 3 to 12, and then the right elevator goes from 1 to P. I parked on 1. The entrance is down by the flats and this entrance only goes to floors 1 and 2. The ceilings are very high so I parked here since I drive an obnoxious truck. Be told, there are a lot of pillars and they place two cars between each set of pillars and I had to do some fancy maneuvering to get my truck in, but I NEVER HIT A PILLAR! yay. Everyone else I talked to weren't so lucky. There is another garage for 3 and 4 that you enter off of west 9th. These seem to have more pillars and you enter at a weird angle and they really pack these with cars. . Both garages open with a transponder that is the most powerful I have ever seen, the door would start to open way before I was in front of it, great! So, as mentioned earlier, I parked on 1 and lived on P. I had only one elevator to service me. Waiting became part of life. I never waited long, but I am patient, my roommate was a toddler so he did complain about waiting but it was like 3 minutes max
The room itself was all the way at the end of the hallway on a corner. The halls curve and have a fascinating design but it sucks bloody hell when you are moving in, but it is a small pittance. Every other residential floor was the original wood floors but the penthouse has carpeted floors and AC/Heat. The AC on my side of the floor seemed to die in the middle of the heat but they were doing a lot of upgrades so that may be why. There is two lounges on the penthouse; a sun that has a deck facing downtown and another that is more a party room. Trash on each floor, but NO CARDBOARD DOWN THE SHOOT! You have to ride the lift to the 1st floor and throw it away which could be a nuisance but I parked down there anyways. My roommate complained about it constantly but nothing new here.
There were a few times that the party room has a wedding shower, cavs showing, etc with the residents where it got really loud in there but being all the way down the hall, could not really hear it. One time someone was having their 21st of something and they all rallied around the elevator and when I got off and not the 21 year old, luckily I am already ackward so I could handle it.
The room was the best that I saw when gallivanting Cleveland. I loved it, we had an amazing view with new deck. The main bedroom I used had three huge windows that gave the most amazing views of Lake Erie. The room was very large, large enough to have a office, sitting area and bed set up, giant walk-in closet that I was able to store three large bookshelves worth of science texts and my reading collection and a ton of clothes without ever thinking I would run out. The bathroom was made for a fine person to warm their mitts. They had redone the tile right as we moved in and put in a new jetted bathtub. The tub is why we signed the day after seeing it, I needed it to live and man did I live. They had the floors washed the day we moved in so they were moist but putting the fans on did the trick. I was in love everyday I was there. There was an in suite washing machine and dryer which was a super convenient and they were good quality. The kitchen was also upgraded before we moved in and it was absolutely lovely. There was an island bar and all. We had put up a lot of art and they said to not worry about holes in the wall which was very nice compared to other properties.
The staff is very good, one night our door lock broke and maintenance had to come at 4am and they certainly got everything squared away. The office staff were super helpful and so friendly. The doormen were super pleasant and learned your names and would get to know you. I had an amazing stay and I give the highest recommendations. Check out the Bingham, you will love it. Try to get a penthouse, my neighbors were super awesome.
certainly tour and consider this place if you are looking to live downtown on the lake
