This place tries a bit too hard to be hip and cool, and loses professionalism in the process. I do love the decor- it is successfully hip and cool, and just has a great vibe. The staff ranges from the very young to older middle aged (and not so "hip"). I've been here on several occasions for nail services, and once for a hair cut.
The nail services are fairly priced. Usually when I am getting a pedicure, I am trying to relax. But Bangz does not have a particularly relaxing atmosphere. When busy, people are scurrying around (in tight quarters), and the staff is also busy socializing with each other. The music may be loud and varies depending on who is controlling the satellite radio (sometimes with some not-so-clean language). The pedicures I have received from the younger staff have been neatly done and long-lasting. From the older staff, not as neat and chipped within a day or two. The owner's daughter is very good with nail art - so if that is something you are looking for, ask for her.
I tried Bangz for a haircut awhile ago and ended up with an appointment with the owner. I was unimpressed with the cut - it was uninspired and boring. She was very late taking me and I was left sitting in the chair frequently while she attended to other things and other customers (a huge pet peeve of mine). For what you pay for hair services, I expect much better service and more attention. I have not returned for a haircut.
Parking can be tricky, and is in a metered lot.
