| - Hmm, I am mixed on this buffet because it was one of the last ones I went to, so not sure if it was 100% the food, or 50% me, LOL.
Anyways.... went here with my carnivorous counterpart since I am a vegetarian.
I started off with:
1) grilled asparagus and red onion salad - DELICIOUS. the asparagus were nicely grilled and the sauce balanced out the red onion.
2) marinated cucumber salad - crisp and clean
3) banana - not sure what kind they were, but they were three sided and not quite ripe =(
4) peach - very good, juicy, firm
5) yogurt with honey and berries - the raspberries and blackberries were sweet and juicy with the yogurt adding a nice tang
If i were just judging my first plate, I would give this place a 5, but then i went for round 2 and....
1) grilled root vegetables - the parsnips and carrots were both over and undercooked with some being mush and the others raw in the middle
2) grilled potatoes - overcooked and salty
3) broccoli and cauliflower - raw
4) scrambled egg with onions and cheese - cooked perfectly and the two guys at the egg station were very professional
5) mac n cheese - they came in an individual little pot. i thought it was a valiant effort and a decent dish overall. cheese was more watery than i normally like, but the bread crumbs were a nice touch for added texture
6) orange juice - it was ok, but not fresh squeezed
i left full, so cannot complain there, but i just feel like my $32 brunch buffet thing coulda delivered better quality stuff? or maybe i am being hard on them because it is difficult to cook vegetables properly. either way, i would give them another chance, but not going to go out of my way to return.
