  • First, do not expect to see Dr. Rosenman or any other M.D. You will see a physicians' assistant. The gentleman I saw was a nice man but a terrible care provider. After waiting an hour and a half, I saw this man for 15 minutes, during which I was allowed to finish maybe two sentences. He did all of the talking, and most of it was about himself and his outside interests. Yet based on the answer to four yes-and-no questions, this man felt he was qualified to change a diagnosis confirmed by an actual DOCTOR whom I saw for three years and who held a fellowship in psychopharmacology from Yale. Worse, those four questions were based only on what had happened in the past few months. I've been suffering from bipolar disorder since I was 3, and I am now 61. The DOCTOR I saw in Illinois had observed my mood changes over time, and this man wasn't even interested in hearing about them. As noted in numerous other posts, the receptionist, who on the day I visited was a young Zoftig blonde, was rude beyond acceptable levels for a gas station attendant, much less someone working with mental health patients. I feel for her because I think her face must be paralyzed; why else would someone not smile even slightly for two straight hours no matter how many people smiled at her? The paperwork a new patient is asked to complete requires legally confirming the receipt of information the office did not have and would not provide. I ended up having to mark through entire sections of the "contract" because the office would not give me the papers I was asked to confirm by signature that I had received. This is quality care? Does this Dr. Rosenman even know what's stated in the legal documents he asks people to sign? I am seeking a different provider, but frankly, I don't have much hope. I have received treatment in Illinois, where I lived for more than 50 years, and Virginia, where I lived for three. I've lived in Las Vegas for seven years, worked with three "care providers" and have yet to see an actual doctor -- for SEVEN YEARS. I have requested assessment and treatment for increasing agoraphobia for that entire period, and NO ONE will even see me to conduct a legitimate medical assessment, which considering the types of assistance one needs when one can't leave her house is unacceptable. There are, for example, transportation services, but I need a DIAGNOSIS, which means I need to see a DOCTOR. I am fortunate enough to be in a profession that temporarily allowed me to work from home and blessed by bosses who support my health concerns and care about me as a human being. But I am being forced to attempt to recover from agoraphobia completely unaided because of the poor mental health care available in Las Vegas -- even if you have insurance, a good credit rating, and a professional-level income. Something needs to be done to address the poor health care in general in Las Vegas, including mental health. In terms of health care, I feel as if I've moved to a third-world country except, of course, health care in every other nation in socialized. In Las Vegas, you get third-world care at high prices. It's the worst of both worlds. I would NEVER advise anyone move to Nevada, mainly because of the unacceptable health care across the board.
