For my first apartment, it could have been SO much worse. I was really pleased with Avia 266 overall. I lived there for a year and actually found the place on Yelp!
Christine was outstanding, literally from Day 1. Most of the other staff was great too, with a few exceptions of people not knowing the answers to my questions. But I get that they had recently undergone new management and hired a lot of new people.
I appreciated the updated facilities and grounds. They did everything they promised (RARE for any apartment complex), right down to installing a washer/dryer in our unit. Overall, the place was pretty quiet, except for my ever-present downstairs neighbor-- not that there's anything you can do about that.
The pools could have been a little cleaner. I would have preferred for maintenance to be a bit more responsive, though I think they're understaffed in that department. The elderly gentleman who helped me out a few times seemed like he could really use the help.
Moving out was a total breeze. We gave 60 days' notice and we didn't get any pressure or questions about our decision. THANK YOU FOR THAT! The key transfer was easy and the deposit was sent to me in a timely manner.
This is NOT the place if you're looking to party and have people over. Nor is it terribly kid-friendly, which they're intentional about-- that's why they removed the playground. I'd recommend Avia 266 to young professionals and college students who need a quiet, reasonably-priced place to live.
