  • I would give two stars because Janell in the office is such a sweet and friendly person (in fact I'd give HER 5 stars personally), however the rest of this experience leads me to the ONE star button. If I could make a personal (opinion) suggestion, when it comes to the actual complex and management, RUN... AWAY...FAR AWAY! The experience starts with requests for repairs (electrical, GFI outlets specifically) that were never completed, and lighting wires have been sticking out of a lighted pillar for several days. My main problem with this is that it is the perfect height for a toddler to put their hands on (photos). My youngest sons unit (a separate unit in the same community) began developing black mold around the master shower in the drywall. They went in, cut out a piece of the drywall, "repaired" it, and put white paint over it. Black spots are beginning to come through the paint again (photos). Peoples trash being left out by their front doors in the smoldering 120° heat and stinking while waiting for "valet" trash pickup (where you leave your trash by the door and they pick up up...sometimes) can be gag-worthy, and the parking arrangement is horrendous. There are nights that you literally have to park on the farthest point away from your unit and walk roughly 1/4 mile. With one assigned spot, if you have more than one auto in the family it is nightmarish to try and get a parking space at night. Imagine that with work items or groceries or baby seat carrier and small kids, no fun. Communication is lacking within the management, they on many occasions do not return calls, or they give a message to office personnel to get back to you. (Leaving you with more questions and unresolved issues) The security gates (which many people move into a gated community for added security) roughly a month and a half ago, now remain open at all times during the day and often into the evenings too, so anyone can come in and out of the "gated" community as they please (Photo). Be sure you understand their billing statement. In one place it states rent, in a box at the bottom are additional fees that are in addition to the rent. Not a huge deal, was just a little confusing, so you could get a late fee if you mess that up your first month. The new maintenance guy does seem to at least be trying to make an effort to make repairs that were left undone for far too long, but in the process piles of goop get left on the sidewalks and front patio (photo), door frames don't get painted after stucco repair materials brush up on them (photo). Certainly most apartment complexes and management companies have lots of complaints against them, it is complicated to please everyone. This however is one facility I could not in good conscience say is a good place to live. Hopefully they will change hands (again) soon and a new management company will make a positive impact on the complex. Through many life lessons, one important thing we have personally learned about living somewhere, is going several times, different times of day and asking the people in the area what they like and dislike about the neighborhood. It might just save you a lot of headache. (No matter which neighborhood it is.)
