| - I can understand big-name companies like AT&T, American Airlines, or the US Postal Service treating their clients like garbage; they're too big to fail and can handle some bad press so long as they continue to make a profit. But I have never seen incompetence and a lack of accountability on a local level like what my wife and I dealt with for three years under Shelter Realty. These people have no clue what it means to treat renters with decency and respect, and they will in fact do everything in their power to take your money upon move-out no matter how much respect you had for the place you called home. It doesn't matter if your quarterly inspections are completed with brilliant remarks because they will still find a way to tell you that there are plenty of things wrong with the home and that if you don't fix everything out of your own pocket, you're not getting your deposit back. Of course, when you contact them and ask why these issues weren't brought up during those inspections, they give you the ludicrous response that the inspectors come from a third-party company and they may not even fully know what to look for. If you happen to pay the wrong rental amount for a few months because you didn't notice an extra fee (something which is admittedly our fault), instead of correcting you after a month or two of the discrepancy, they'll do so after eight months have passed so that you have to drop them a check for about $700 dollars.
Unreal. I honestly have no idea how anyone walks out of that office and thinks to themselves "Yeah, I did good work today." Because trust me, they don't. Like others have said, stay far away from this company if you're renting a home in Vegas.
