I got my nostril pierced here a few weeks ago. I researched a bit before and narrowed it down to here or HTC. I choose Halo because the girl that answered the phone at HTC was snarky and all else being equal, I prefer good customer service.
The studio is clean and the staff was more matter of fact than friendly. I filled out some paperwork picked out my (pricey) jewelry, paid, and went into the back. The cheaper end jewelry and piercing plus tip came to about $75.
The piercing room is immaculately clean and had a very comfortable chair to lie back in. The piercer was friendly and professional. She said she had been piercing for 11yrs and made me feel at ease. She marked my nose and asked me to check the placement. She then pierced the nostril which was relatively painless. Then she had to bend the post inside my nostril, this was the more painful part. She finished but I could feel the post rubbing and tickling inside my nose and asked her to readjust it. She did but it still felt strange so she looked up inside my nose with a flashlight, said that she saw the problem. Then she forcefully moved the post through my Nasal tissue which felt like it was tearing and was so painful I almost jumped out of the chair. After that I couldn't feel the post and it seemed to be in the proper place. My nose was sore inside for the next few days, not where the piercing was but where the tissue had been ripped and I had a little bleeding.
It's a few wks later now and everything seems fine with my nose, its mostly healed. I do however have mixed feelings about my visit to Halo. While I didn't have a horrible experience I am left wondering why an experienced piercer would rip through my nasal tissue rather than gently readjusting the post. I probably would try HTC next time just for comparison as nothing about my visit here made me a loyal customer.
