  • Looking to install an alarm in a 2017 F250 Super Duty so I checked online through the Ford website. I found a nice "plug and play" system that also has a remote start function. This unit sold from Ford for around $200. An LED indicator light sells for $15 and the antenna sells for $62. I drove over to San Tan Ford to see about having these items installed and was told the whole system would cost about $899 installed. When I mentioned it was significantly higher that what I saw online, the price came significantly but not that much. I was then told it would be a 3 to 4 hour installation. When I checked online in the Ford Forums, I learned the installation was literally a few minutes. I've decided to order the part and install it myself. Be careful. I understand they have a business to run but over $400 to install a simple "plug and play" system is ludicrous.
