| - I'm downgrading my rating. We have gone here about 4 times, so far. We went again, last night, to celebrate my 50th birthday, and I was a bit disappointed. We both ordered the rib cap, which, in the past had so much flavor that I would never have considered ordering a sauce on the side. It didn't need it...whatever small amount of sauce that they swirled on the plate was just enough to compliment the flavor of the beef. This time, however, it was not quite as tender as on previous visits, and was quite flavorless. I detected no seasoning whatsoever, except for salt...and it wasn't even plated with the usual small amount of sauce that we enjoyed on our previous visits. The truffled mac and cheese used to be so dreamy...this time it was dried out and didn't even have any truffles on the top, as it did the last time we had it. The foie gras with puff pastry appetizer was still good...and the sticky toffee pudding was as amazing as always and our waitress was very charming, which is the only reason why I'm even giving 3 stars. But for $61 per steak ( a la carte), the entree and the side of macaroni were definitely not worth the price. Both seemed like maybe they were sitting underneath the heating lamps too long. It seems that they need a little more consistency in the seasoning and garnishing area, as well. Also, the gentleman who dropped off the sticky toffee pudding, sang out a one line "happy birthday to you", so quickly and dropped the plate off and disappeared so quickly that the whole thing felt very rushed and insincere. I think, next time, we will go elsewhere for dinner and just come here for the desert...sticky toffee pudding.
