| - It is said that Venice is one Europe's most romantic cities and is the most beautiful city built by man. To appreciate the praises, you have to visit the city in person as you'll get a better appreciation of the intricate waterways and interconnecting bridges throughout this city. Taking a gondola ride through Venice's narrow waterways while admiring the Renaissance era's multi-colored structures or traversing down the Grand Canal watching the Summer sunset with a loved one is certainly memory producing.
BUT for those who don't get the chance to actually visit Venice, Italy, The Venetian Las Vegas delivers some of the scenery along with its Las Vegas tweaks. As you approach this resort from South Las Vegas Blvd, you're immediately met by replicas of The Lion of Venice Column, the Ponte di Rialto (Rialto Bridge), San Marco Campanile (St. Mark's bell tower), Palazzo Ducale (Doge's Palace) and Canale Grande (Grand Canal) complete with gondoliers. Walk inside to find the Piazza San Marco where you can dine "al fresco" under faux blue skies. Of course, these REPLICAS are smaller in scale when compared with the originals and they're mostly made from fiberglass not stone but you'll get the idea.
We've had the pleasure of staying in both The Venetian and The Palazzo Hotels and have found the all-suites accommodations, service, dining options, shopping areas (Grand Canal Shops) and casinos to be sophisticated and fun. There are even some Italian-speaking team members and performers which also makes this resort more authentic.
We've always gotten the sense that the employees are all very customer service oriented and from what we've seen and experienced, this resort shows their Pride. Whenever we're in Las Vegas, even if we're not staying at The Venetian or The Palazzo, a lot of our dining experiences are shared here.
