I was excited to see this place open up walking distance from where I work. Ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl (small) with brown rice and sauteed vegetables, to-go. Made a last minute decision and got myself a tocino musubi and free pork belly app wtih yelp check in.
PROS
+ good portion, small bowl should be enough to fill me up for lunch without the last minute impulse orders
+ friendly staff, big smiles and greeted with "ALOHA"; apologized that I had to wait awhile
CONS
- put in my free pork belly app order shortly after I ordered my main meal, but felt like I waited a lot longer than I needed to for it (party of 3 after me all got their orders before me)
- rice in musubi wasn't sticky enough to old it together, fell apart after my first bite
- very small portion of pork belly app, there were only a few pieces on a bed of slaw; it was free but I probably wouldn't order again
TAKEAWAYS
* get the small bowl again for lunch, get something other than the chicken teriyaki (short ribs, pork sisig)
* get the mac salad, always (sauteed vegetables?! what was i thinking?)
* try the burrito, if you're feeling dangerous
