Over the last several years, we have seen a rise in quality taco establishments. Both places that keep to authentic Mexican style and new, innovative places that develop their own unique brand of street-style taco. This is neither!
It is as if the creator of this menu went to the local GFS and found whatever frozen or prepackaged ingredients that were on sale and lamely attempted to cobble together a menu. I can almost envision the can of queso with "Extra Gloppy" on the label. The two tacos I found even mildly inspiring were equally devoid of inspiration or flavor. The braised beef taco, which alleged on the menu the flavor of chipotle, recalled neither heat nor smoke. It was oddly reminiscent of last Sunday's pot roast dinner (you know, the fatty bits you push around on your plate and hope no one will notice you are not eating). While the Asian shrimp taco was slightly more palatable, It too was found to be lacking. I urge the continued celebration of the taco. I also urge you do it elsewhere.
