  • Macarons!!!! These are the best Macarons in Toronto. They are crunchy on the outside, slightly chewy on the inside and filled with flavored cream. Non-of that jam stuff. La Bambouche is on a small side street south of Yonge and Eglinton. I work North of Yonge and Eglinton, so this trek was new to me. The store was quaint. It's like what you would imagine Martha Stewart's kitchen to resemble. Pine wood tables, counters, chairs and bakery shelves. Glass display cases, wicker baskets and straw here and there. Provokes the sense of homemade farm goodness. The macarons are far from a farmer's baked apple pie though. These things are sophisticated morsels of sweet, crunchy, salty, chewy and creamy goodness. Something you HAVE to try. I actually came over after work around 7:30pm. I wanted to pick up macarons as gifts for the day after. So 18 macarons in total coming to the price of 2.60 each. Buy 6, pay no tax! perfect! One of the coolest thing was the mystery macaron which is different everyday. I thought that this was a fun idea. Still can't figure out what I ate, but it was delicious. Here are the flavors I got to choose from and what I thought about each: Salted Caramel - sweet and salty, the perfect combination - cream is studded with small pieces of caramel - my favourite Sake and Ume - Japanese sake flavoured and taste just like it - It's a different kind of taste and a bit salty, which I grew up with - second favourite Cassis - Reminded me of a sweet wine and grape jam with less sugar - not that special, and this flavour is common Amaretto - Like a Ferraro Rocher, hazelnut cream/nutella overwhelmed the meringue flavour. I'm not complaining though. Lavender - Tasted like flowers in my mouth - different but not great Yuzu - Citrus explosion - tart and a tad sour - like a grapefruit and orange are making whoopie in your mouth Overall, if you like macarons, La Bamboche is the place to be. Try it out, love it and then come thank me. You're Welcome.
