I had 3 free nights with the MGM chain of hotels so I took then up for it. It was one of my close friends birthday and it was also my boyfriend's first time in Vegas. After looking at all the options, I decided to stay at the Luxor because all the years of going to vegas, this is one of the few hotels I've yet to stay at.
With the comp rooms, I only paid the resort fees (which I dislike because we did not use any of it and the pool etc was being redone plus it's cold in February!) All in all, still only paid 102 bucks for the three nights so I can't complain too much.
The hotel: It's ok. There were some parts of it that was cool. I especially like the huge ass tv screens at the check in line playing old school music videos. That was a nice touch and I like that you can check-in via your mobile phone and just pick up the keys.
The room: We were given a king bed on the 6th floor, view facing the back street (hwy) of the hotel/parking structure; so yeah the view was not anything beautiful. Room had your typical table and chair, dresser to hang up your clothes.
The bathroom: Old and outdated.
The bed was ok but I hated the pillows. No support.
Noise level was fine and housekeeping did a good job cleaning after us each morning.
What I dislike the most: No coffee pot in the room, No mini-fridge! I mean c'mon even the cheap motels down the street have these and a microwave! My guy and I ate off the strip often and wanted to bring food back for late night snacks etc ... but no place to warm or keep food safe.
I would stay here again but next time would def ask for an upgrade or look into the other MGM hotel options.
