I am visiting Champaign and had a late-night chocolate craving. After 20 minutes in line at Cold-Stone behind a pack of pre-teen boys that kept multiplying as their friends joined them, I decided dessert wasn't worth the mounting anxiety, or the $5. I walked away, ready to give up my search when a faint "open" sign caught my eye. I could barely make out the word "cookie." Lo and behold, what looked like a dark, empty store from the outside was not only open but had a warm batch of cookies waiting for me. They were gooey and delicious, cost $1.25, and the person at the counter was very nice.
