My husband and I are big fans of Cirque du Soleil and have gone to see every new show in the past 5 years (Both in Toronto and in other places in the world). In fact, we even saw one in Cancun on our honeymoon last January and flying to Mexico City to their local production in December. Volta in Toronto, however, was very disappointing. The performances were weak, the performers were recycled from one act to another, most of the stuff was at amateur level, and the decorations were very scarce. Overall felt like a low quality production put together by another, starting production company, definitely not at the level we've come to expect from Circue du Soleil brand. I would understand if the tickets were priced differently but they were the regular price for a sub par performances that actually had a few things that went wrong, so even at the weaker level they were not executed flawless. Is this the end of Cirque du Soleil now that the company was sold? That would be very sad;((
