| - Ascent at Papago Park is a really nice apartment complex with wonderful amenities. That was the appeal for me when I was looking for a place near downtown Phoenix. Rent is reasonably priced, washer and dryer are in unit, the interiors are in excellent condition, and the facilities are always clean and organized. Management also holds monthly family-friendly events for residents to get to know each other. They work hard to build a nice community. The overall environment is very welcoming, and I really enjoyed living here.
With that said, I had problems while signing the lease and arranging move-out. Some of their financial policies don't make a lot sense for students, which is unfortunate because the complex is a pretty ideal spot for students in Tempe or Downtown Phoenix. Nonetheless, we got the issue sorted out. I had absolutely no problems with management while I was living there, but move-out was a little disorganized.
Moving out was pretty hectic because I was working out-of-town for six weeks until my lease ended. When I returned from my away rotation, I found out that management had given my parking space away to a new tenant even though my lease was not up yet. This was really frustrating because it felt like they were taking advantage of my time away, and it made it harder to load my car while I was moving out because I had to part much farther away.
My final move-out inspection/key return was also not scheduled properly, which made me panic. Additionally, I couldn't be available for the inspection because of work/school, so I arranged for a family member to go instead. Despite giving multiple, clearly written instructions about contacting my family member for the inspection, they failed to do so, and we had to call and remind them again. It also took a lot longer than I expected for my security deposit to be mailed back to me.
Overall, I had no qualms about living here, and in fact really enjoyed it. I just wish the people in the office could be a little more on top of things.
