Yikes! This place got WEIRD. It doesn't even feel like a bar anymore - let alone a tiki bar! I used to frequent this place a few years back when my friend bartended here, but ever since it got taken over by either new management or new owners, it just does NOT feel the same. Sure, its decor is pretty cool and you can tell they put a lot of thought (and money) into it... but it's almost TOO much. Now there's hostesses? Waitresses?? Specific tables you get seated at, like it's a restaurant??? I can't be the only one who thinks that's an odd move for a bar... It makes you feel like you're supposed to stay confined to your table and not get up to check out all the tropical tchotchkes. Sorry, Golden Tiki, but I'll be keeping my business at Frankie's, where the drinks are cheaper/better and the atmosphere is laid-back but professional.
