  • I would never, ever recommend this place to anyone. I have always had great experiences at almost every club and venue in Las Vegas and I have to say that this was by far the worst experience of any place I have visited in any city. We rented a cabana and reserved in advance. We were never given any kind of information regarding rules with our confirmation before arriving to the Hard Rock. (I have since checked their website and cannot find it listed there either) We entered through the hotel and then were told we had to go back out and enter through the parking garage. You literally line up inside a parking garage to enter. Upon approaching the check in table there was a sign stating the obvious no glass, no weapons, no drugs, no alcohol, no food, etc. - basically the norm if you were entering a concert venue. Then it goes on to say no bags larger than this little box they have to check sizes, no back packs, no medications, etc. All of the ladies had their beach bags with sunscreen and lotions and although each bag fit inside the box due to their emptiness the size of the actual bag was made an issue. Everyone had to check their bags and carry what they could to the next check point (which we were unaware was lying before us). I had a bag that fit and so did one other girl so we were fine but paying a couple grand for a cabana and then to have to pay to check a bag was over the top. We get through and wait for about 25 mins before being led into the ally between the garage and the hotel and into a service door. There was a double layer of security in this area and the first one takes a picture (without telling you!) of your whole group and checks ID for wrist bands. The second layer of security gives you a more thorough pat down than TSA and doesn't just peek into your purse and pockets but goes through every single slot, pocket, zipper, and crevice they can find. Between myself and one other gal in our group we lost about $300 worth of things b/c they took all gum, our tiny travel perfume (mine was $65!), even our COMPACTS b/c they include a mirror (attached inside for goodness sake!), tweezers, nail clippers, and took these things all while squeezing my tampons during the search. Had we known at the very first entry point you couldn't have these things we could have checked them with the other bags... now we were given the option to walk back to the parking garage, pay to check them, wait in line again without the others in our group or to just surrender the items. We chose to surrender them in order to cause the least amount of fuss and due to the fact that I have a broken foot and am in a cast and have a wheeled walker... it was just too much to bother with. We finally were walked down a long hallway and went through a storage area and the kitchen to an elevator that took us up to the cabana level. (I assume the scenic trip to the elevator is only due to my injury and not the norm.) We were taken to a cabana very far from the party pool (which was probably the best case) and right above a pool that had a mini beach leading into it. Our server came up and took our drink order. She was very nice and was reasonably quick considering how far we were from everything. Our cabana was tiny with 2 love seats, a TV, and no other space really. It does have a mini fridge and a tiny safe so you can lock up your phones and stuff while walking the property which is nice. We got our first round of drinks and then walked down to the main party pool. It was a neat design but a mad house. There were people packed in everywhere and many of them on drugs I think! People were standing all in the pool and dancing and partying. We people watched for a while and then went back to the cabana to order some food. Food was in line with Vegas prices and everything was pretty good. The group wanted to continue checking things out but I was not feeling that so I decided to stay back in the cabana and relax for a bit. My husband stayed behind with me and I got comfy on the couch propping my broken foot up on the armrest of the couch. I watched the TV for a while and then dozed off only to be woken by a security guards whistle telling me that I am not allowed to close my eyes! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? There were people lying by the pool with their eyes closed also and with a private cabana I find this totally ridiculous and out of line. I am not trying to pull the handicapped or baller card here either but I am lying there in a cast relaxing and our group spending about $4K in your facility! I would think he could have let me slide on that considering it was so clear I wasn't wasted or passed out drunk... just simply "enjoying" our cabana. I went down the the "beach" pool and sat in the sun only to watch 6 or 7 silly guys playing volley ball and having a good time get yelled at for horsing around! WOW! Are they 5 years old? LEAVE THE BOYS ALONE! It was an experience I will NEVER forget!
