| - So I just had the most unusual experience at this dealership. After calling Kia about my brake lights going completely out, I was informed that there was a recall on a part that was more than likely the cause. I called the dealership on 5/8 and explained the issue to Charles who was very nice. I was told to come in and they would handle it. I arrived at 7A on 5/9 as scheduled. Met with with Charles, who ran the VIN and verified that it was indeed a recall part. He confirmed with the other service advisor at the service desk that it would be about an hour to replace the part so I decided to wait. A little over an hour passes and Charles comes back to the waiting area and says my car is out front and ready to go...but...that it wasn't repaired because there was a "mistake" and they didn't have the part! What?! It was very clear that they were not trying to track one down as I wasn't offered a date to return, or given the typical "we don't have the part, but we are sending a runner to get one." He was basically just telling me they couldn't or wouldn't fix it. Yeah, not so fast.. as you just wasted an hour of my time and I have no brake lights! I then asked for a loaner vehicle while they tracked down the part, and I was told they are for "serious" repairs. What?!! So ZERO brake lights aren't a serious repair? Not only is it a safety hazard, but it is against the law to drive without brake lights!!! I was stunned. He then said he'd go see what he could do with regards to a loaner vehicle. Maybe 10 minutes pass and I walk to service desk to check status on loaner car. Charles then informs me that there was another "mistake" and that they did have the part, and my car was now fixed! (Which they somehow managed to install in the 10 minutes I was waiting on word about a loaner car!!) What the hell is going on in this place?! While the brake lights now work, I'm not convinced the actual recall part was changed. Maybe it was a fuse? I don't know but now I need to take it somewhere else to verify it was in fact changed. Bottom line is this: This dealership just missed out on any future opportunities to service my 2011 low mileage Kia or to sell me a new one. I don't deal with anything shady, whether it's money out of my pocket or not. **They get two stars only because the brake lights are currently working, and I had a cup of their coffee! P.S. I despise car dealerships!!!
