I just moved into the neighborhood and had to try this place out. I'd heard it was the best fish taco joint in town and an all around great restaurant.
My wife and I went for lunch and each got two tacos and a side as per their taco menu. I chose the beer battered white fish tacos with rice and beans and she got the tuna tacos with the avocado pasta salad. You get unlimited chips and salsa when you sit down. The salsa is really good - extra chunky and a little spicy. I was a little surprised at first that the cost was $10-11 for that amount of food, but when the plates came out I understood why. The tacos are HUGE. As in pieces of fish falling out all sides. We munched on several bits with forks before attempting to pick the shell in and go at it like a regular taco. It was manageable from there.
The battered fish tacos were very good. The fish was really soft and tender with a light batter that was very crispy. The sauce was delicious. The tuna tacos were nicely seasoned with a great texture as well. They had a horseradishy flavor from the sauce. The beans and rice were good for what they are and the avocado pasta salad was very good. It was nice and creamy with a delightful avocado flavor.
I will definitely return, but next time I think my with wife and I will split one order as we each took some of our meal home with us and were still full when we left. My one criticism would be that I'd prefer the tacos to be half the size and half the price. It would be an adequate amount of food and only cost a reasonable $5-$6.
