| - I took a hamster there (that's right, I took a hamster in!) and now will be taking my 2 doggies there instead of our old veterinarian. Everything about this place was great. 1st, they got me in on the same day which my previous vet could never do even for urgent issues. They always just directed me to the emergency animal hospital.
2nd the front desk personnel were friendly, professional, and caring. Even though I came walking in with a hamster in a box, they weren't fazed, didn't make me feel stupid, and seemed genuinely concerned about the bump on her foot.
3rd, Dr. Bob. He is the best veterinarian I've encountered in 15 years of pet ownership over 4 states. He was gentle and again, didn't make me feel stupid for being all upset about a hamster. He did a couple of probes on her foot, got a 2nd opinion from one of the other vets, and broke the news that it was a tumor. He then thoroughly explained all the options which included amputation of the whole leg, antibiotics that would only serve to make me feel better for exhausting all the options, or just let her be until her quality of life was compromised. He was quite frank about the costs and effectiveness of each course of treatment and helped me come to a decision. He also said that when it does come time to euthanize her, just bring her back, and he will do that with no charge.
It was a sad diagnosis, but he handled it in a way that was compassionate yet factual. His vet tech was also incredibly nice and competent. Prices were reasonable. I'll be bringing all my animals here for their medical needs from now on.
