| - After being greeted by the Front staff and Dental assistant, I really had high hopes for this practice. The office is clean, the front staff is very friendly and they were very welcoming from the start. I go to the dentist at least once a year. I usually like to go twice, if I can (for cleaning).
I recently moved to AZ, so I needed to find a new dentist that I could trust. I found Dr. Maryam B via Zocdoc and I am truly disappointed in the Dr's service here. Why did I forget to check Yelp? I truly understand the need to be stern and professional and proud of the work that you provide, but you can clearly see the Dr's work ethics the moment that you meet her. (At least, I did) It shows in the way that you treat your patients.
Not only was Dr. Maryam very condescending, but also very pessimistic and untrusting. She did not understand me or believe me when I said that it's been about a year since my last checkup (i just checked and it's been just under a year) that she kept asking me over and over again.
Apparently I need to pay an additional charge for the xrays that they will charge my insurance for today so that I can get my previous dentist to double check the work since she is telling me that I have pre-gum disease, I need a crown, I have severe plaque and that I've never gotten a "deep DEEP deep" (there are 3? levels) cleaning done. BTW, they said that I need to pay the additional charge only after I mentioned that I wanted to double check the Dr's findings. (second opinion from my original dentist) Oh, and she scolded me telling me that I need to wear my retainers because my teeth are shifting. (Without asking any details other than have you had braces?) I only got braces for a minimal shift (it's already shifted back, it's been over 5 years)
I truly do not trust this doctor and will ask for all of my records to make sure that they are not trying to bill my insurance fraudulently. I am also truly disappointed in ZocDoc for having this doctor in their system with high reviews, and that's what I get for not doing further research. I should've checked Yelp.
