  • Will NEVER take my car to Firestone again. I took my car to the location on Osborn and 3rd street three weeks ago for an A/C check because it sounded like my compressor was going to fall out. They came back saying it's working properly, "recharged it" and guaranteed work. Took it back the next week to check for leaks because it was still making a HORRIBLE sound, they say no leak everything is fine, still did not sound right even though the mechanic himself told me he wouldn't put his wife in the car if it wasn't working right. Well guess what happened in Phoenix, AZ, 105 degrees. My compressor went out. Obviously I didn't need to be a mechanic to figure that out!!!! ON TOP OF THAT ... my Serpentine belt snapped where it was obviously melted in one spot, killed my power steering and car instantly. Adam, the service manager, implied I may have taken a blowtorch to it. Now tell me how or why in the world would I do that to my own car?!? The last mechanics working on my car were from Firestone!! Oh and I googled it (thank you, Google), 'the Serpentine belt is a normal part of an A/C check. The Serpentine belt will snap if the clutch on the compressor goes out.' Looks like they missed something. Thank God this didn't happen to me on the highway!! Still waiting for the District Manager to call me back. Not holding my breath.
