I try to make it out to Narcisi at least once a year. It's definitely a hike for me to get there, but I always feel like it's worth it.
A few reasons why I think it's worth it:
-something different to do in the 'Burgh
-what better way to spend a sunny warm/cool day outside than drinking some wine
-great for a small or large group
-nice lawn area to play cornhole or bocce ball
-food is tasty although a bit pricey for what it is
-tasting of 3 wines before you decide to purchase
I've always had a positive experience while I've gone to Narcisi Winery. I like that they have several variety of wines that can be appreciated by all levels of wine drinkers...even by my immature palette.
The get all their grapes from Erie and drive them to Pittsburgh soon after they are picked and start the wine making process right at Narcisi. I just think it's great to have something like this in the region when you're feeling restless and thinking to yourself, "oh there's nothing to do in this city".
It's definitely worth checking out and forming your own opinion about it.
