  • Exceptional experience, all the way around. When I arrived, I was greeted with a smile. I was brought back to start the exam as soon as I was done with the insurance and medical history paperwork. Dr. Akers was very nice, explained the processes, took an interest in what I had to say. He even indicated that contacts would probably not be the best for my needs, rather than try to sell me them like other places I've been, so that was refreshing. The exam was short, yet thorough. One of the staff was actually waiting for Dr. Akers to finish with me so that I could get right to looking for a pair of frames. Decent selection of both brand name and generic frames. Some of the brands I saw were Ray Ban, Nike, Ted Baker. There were others too that I can't recall- I selected a pair from Smith Optics. Now here comes the most impressive part. I went to this office because I mixed it up with one that was open Saturdays. I'm going out of town for work for an extended period of time in a couple days, and I was thinking I'd stop and pick up my new glasses on a weekend I was home. When I learned they were not open Saturdays and explained my situation, I was proactively provided three options: they could have them mailed directly to where I was staying; they could call when the glasses were in, and then ship them to me; I could take my prescription and get the glasses anywhere. I told them to call when they were in, thinking I'd have my hotel information by then and could provide an address. Not unlike other traditional optometrist offices, the estimate was two weeks so I figured I'd finally get them in about three. I visited the office for the exam Monday, and they called yesterday to tell me the glasses were in already! That's Amazon fast- less than 48-hour turnaround. Saved me from going weeks with my really old glasses (I'd lost my newer pair last week). So I went in today to pick up, again greeted with a smile, didn't even have to give them my name, and they even remembered to wish me good luck on my trip. And of minor importance, I love the music that plays in the office - heard Switchfoot, Tenth Avenue North and The Fray while I was there, nice! To sum it up, Dr. Akers and all the staff provide superior service and I was pleased with my glasses. I'll return next year for sure!
