  • Shady Grove is a nice location, and I've been here on multiple occasions, mostly for their half off wine night on Wednesdays and Fridays. It can get pretty busy in here on those nights, and its generally a good place to meet people. I've had the food too a few times, and the menu is not bad - typical American fare. I've had mixed experiences with the service at the bar though. The doorman is a really great guy, and over my multiple trips had a very friendly acquaintance with him. Upstairs though, depending on the bartender, I've sometimes had the feeling of being deliberately ignored, while someone else just cleans the glasses. This is not the case always by any means, but it left me with a bad impression for some time. Its never happened downstairs though, and typically most of the staff is OK. In general though, its one of the fun places to go on Walnut Street.
