  • Futura Granita and Gelato is THE place to go for gelato, but especially for their granita! If you've never tried granita before, this is the best place to start and if you've had it before, it's the best in the city. It's like the consistency of velvety smooth shaved ice. The gelato and granita are jam packed full of flavours without being overwhelming and it's so hard to pick just one kind. The great thing about this is that they allow you to choose more than one flavour. You can also ask to taste the flavours before you pick. I love how the ingredients are real so you don't get that artificial flavour that you would from other frozen desserts. Last time I went, I had their coconut lime granita. This was incredibly delicious! The coconut was very subtle and the lime wasn't too sour, but I could definitely taste it. It was such a light and refreshing dessert to have after a big dinner. This time around, I had their pineapple mint granita and it was just as fresh and delicious as the coconut lime. The mint didn't overpower the pineapple and the pineapple wasn't too sweet nor sour. It was the perfect medley of the two flavours. I loved it! My husband had the maple walnut gelato and it had just the right amount of sweetness and nuttiness with a creamy texture. It was a great accompaniment to my granita. The owners are very friendly and the space is incredibly beautiful. I will definitely be coming here every time I'm in the area.
