  • A hidden gem at First Markham. The place is by no means a patisserie, and although the place does not not very appealing or fancy, they do produce high quality cakes, and Chinese buns and pastries. Their cakes are fluffy, light and moist, and offered at very good prices for the quality. Their green tea cake and their lemon raspberry cake are very good, and they often have different flavored buns that you might not find elsewhere, like cantaloupe, mango, and black sesame. Be open minded and a little adventurous, and you might be pleasantly surprised.
