  • This is a buffet, so if you are unfamiliar with the concept or dining style, it may be a bit much for the generic American food eater. By this I mean, this is an Asian styled buffet, with combinations and flavors that may not appeal to everyone. I personally enjoy every visit here and haven't been disappointed in over a dozen visits in the past, but as its a buffet I tend to visit during volume hours for a larger and fresher selection. Yes, it's wise to come here when you're starving and it doesn't hurt to have an open mind on food. Bland isn't really a flavor here. My companion always judges Asian buffets by the quality of the chicken feet, myself the frogs legs. Hokkaido doesn't carry frog legs and the chicken feet were cold, almost pickled, but enjoyed. Plenty of the other food was delicious, the selection gigantic, and the buffet was kept quite clean. Small secret. It seems they may not label everything on purpose. Perhaps that's because the staff hardly acknowledges the ability to speak English. Perhaps it's to the benefit of the educated diner. I scored some red clam sashimi, salmon skin maki, bean stuffed buns, and something I still don't know what it was. The crab legs were actually delicious, the maki/sushi was freshly prepared, the octopus salad always scrumptious. It always seems like the generic American foods suffer but I know nothing of this. I did not come here eat garlic bread, corn dogs, pizza, or chicken quesadilla. So sure, it's a buffet, but it has plenty of eclectic dishes. If you're in the mood for an Asian food buffet, there's plenty to cram in your belly here. So yes, four stars, amongst its contemporaries this place shines
