| - I just went here today and first off I'm not sure where the prices these people are coming up with are from - tickets were really cheap, ESPECIALLY if you have a Phoenix Zoo membership which ends up with the ticket for Sea Life being only about $10 total per person and applies to anyone in your group not just the membership holder. There were 3 adults and 1 child old enough to need a ticket and we only payed just barely over 30 dollars total. I checked their normal prices both while there and just now and someone in a review claiming it was almost $80 for two adults is ridiculous even without any discounts, hell the annual membership is only 50 bucks and typically on sale for about 30. They must be confusing SeaLife with Sea WORLD down in San Diego which is $98 dollars per person.
As for the aquarium - don't get the wrong idea, while it's strangely built inside a mall (really great mall, by the way, it's huge even for someone from southern California) the aquarium is actually about an hour long experience, feels like a legitimate aquarium, and is actually really nicely set up and themed making it hard to remember it's built onto the side of a shopping center. An hour may not sound like a lot but having been to a lot of aquariums in California (everywhere from San Diego and LA up to Monterey Bay) most really do only take an hour unless you're talking something GIGANTIC like Sea World which is more of a zoo style experience anyway.
I was there with family including a 2 year old and 10 year old and both had a fantastic time, and as an adult I can say I did too. There's a lot of variety in the sea life represented and all seemed well taken care of, there are even things I hadn't been able to see or touch at those other aquariums that i could here (for example clawless lobsters) though to it's slight detriment there are no chances to touch any of the most famous-for-touching sting rays. They DO have rays - including not just a large one but a MASSIVE one as well in the walk-through tank. While I was there it was flopped down directly under the glass walkway and was amazing to see just relaxing there and at a size I had never seen one of these at before. The displays are set up very smart especially for kids with little 'bubbles' to peek into that are inside the tanks themselves and a lot of bulbous shaped areas that make it look like the fish are coming out of the tank before you realize it's just shaped out that way.
For anyone with small children it's great too - there's a whole play place and everything at the end (or you can just walk in from the gift shop if you have a pass for the aquarium). The gift shop is also nice - it's about the size of an after-ride shop at an amusement park and has a lot of variety with typical gift-shop prices and some surprisingly cheap yet nice things as well.
I forgot to mention it, but the place was also very clean and not too busy - making for a relaxing pace without ever feeling forced to hurry along or being remotely crowded. There were also a lot of LCD touch-screens with lots of info about each fish in each tank!
Plus, right after you can go shop around the mall or get something to eat all with ease.
