  • For being a small resort only an hour away from Vegas, it is pretty nice. It's obviously not going to rival Tahoe or Park City, but it's not bad. If you plan on coming here, come early. I arrived at 9:10am which was 10 minutes after they opened and I ended up parking about 2/3 of the way back from the main lot. There is an overflow lot a decent walk from the resort. If you are a military member, DO NOT PURCHASE TICKETS ONLINE. It's $39 at the ticket office; however, if you are not military purchasing tickets online may save you a few bucks. The grill is actually not bad. Purchased a cheeseburger and a basket of chicken tenders and actually liked it a lot. People who complain that the food here is like high school cafeteria food must have had some good cafeteria food. My high school's food was complete trash in comparison to here. There is a limited amount of runs (3 chair lifts). There is one bunny slope which gets crazy packed around 11am to 1pm. Since we got there early, I was able to get a few runs in with the gf to show her the ropes. After 11am, it was almost impossible for me to teach her while dodging other people. There is also an intermediate and advanced chair lift. The advanced lift drops you off where it splits into a black diamond and blue squares. There is an intermediate lift that drops you off at what I believe was two blue squares (one of which had rails/boxes/jumps). The black diamond slope was actually pretty hard to ride because it was not groomed and was very choppy. I ended up sticking with the blue squares which were groomed well. If you plan on coming here when it's snowing, BRING SNOW CHAINS or at least 4x4 with snow tires. I drove up on 1/14/17 when there was very light snow and there were quite a bit of cars that got stuck. One dude in a lowered rwd hyundai genesis couldn't get traction on an incline so he had to have a few people help him push his car the remainder of the way to the resort. I also saw a 4Runner and a Range Rover who had parked in a spot with a bit of snow having trouble getting out of them. If you come here, do not expect the ultimate snow boarding experience. This is just a small resort to make a quick 1 hour drive and to get your boarding fix. The runs are somewhat limited and it can get a little packed, but for what it is, it's pretty awesome.
