I saw a large window sign for 79ยข tostadas on Thursdays (see attached picture) and thought, "What a great deal!". I went in and ordered, and the cashier charged me $2.00. I told her about the window sign that brought me in. She asked the cook, who said there was no special that day. She told him that I had seen the sign, and he again denied the offer. I reiterated that it was clearly advertised outside, and the cashier asked another employee. Fortunately, the second employee gave me the special price, but I thought it was strange that none of the staff knew what their own restaurant offered.
After placing my order, I waited. And waited. And waited. It took almost 15 minutes for my order. A tostada is relatively simple to make. You put beans, cheese, tomatoes and lettuce on a fried tortilla. I couldn't believe it took so long.
Worst of all, the tostada was bad. They fry their tortillas in house, which would be good if they did it right. Unfortunately, mine was not fried long enough, and had a chewy texture. The beans were bland, and the tostada had no flavor.
