| - Review for Legends of Horror
Bottom line: bad value. Cost is $45 (at the door; $40 online) per person plus $10 parking.
We finished the walk in 40 minutes, which included a mid point wait in line.
You start outside, then go into the castle for some more scares. At about the mid-way point, when you're inside the castle, you must pass through the bar (there's a DJ, drinks, food) in order to continue the walk. On top of that, once you leave the bar area, you have to wait in a line in order to continue on. It feels abrupt and really takes away from the spooky feel.
There were a lot of people, and so the spacing out of groups wasn't so great. We were almost directly behind another group (with another group almost directly behind us) and saw all the upcoming scares. It wasn't very scary knowing what was coming. The thing is, when you buy your ticket online, you book a time to come. So they're either overbooking online or taking too many walk ins. This needs to be changed as it ruins the whole experience.
The exhibit relies heavily on animatronics and props. There were very few live actors, which I think makes a huge difference. Some of the costumes were repetitive; the werewolf and gremlin for example.
All of the factors mentioned made this experience hardly scary. It was still cool to admire the scary scenes and props, but it wasn't very scary and definitely not worth the money.
